by Friendship is not something you learn in school. Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness. True friends are always there through thick and thin. As humans, we are wired to be social. We want to be around other people. We don’t just merely want friends, we need them.
Good friends allow you to make mistakes and love you anyway. However, they aren’t afraid to say you’re being an idiot. Friends are also our biggest encouragers. Friends are there to laugh and cry with you. Isn’t that a wonderful thing?
We learned to appreciate each other every day. Every, single day. Life is short. Live life to the fullest with the people close to you. I encourage everyone to do the same because hearing a friend tell you they will always be there for you when you fall is better than hearing it from the cold, hard floor.
True friends are priceless, and they are rare. As each year passes, I have come to realize the value in what I like to call “real” people. When Facebook became popular, there seemed to be an expectation to get as many “friends” as possible. And if you did not have lots of “friends”, then you were somehow less important.
I have learned the value of quality versus quantity, true friends rather than a bunch of superficial ones. Like many things, this lesson was learned the hard way. After awhile these relationships just get exhausting and disappointing. Why? Because people deserve better. Why? Because people deserve better.
Humans are made for relationships, and those superficial people we have in our life are not the type of relationships that we can thrive in. These relationships die and fade and often leave us drained. Sometimes it is a lot harder to identify these relationships in our life.
Obviously, life happens, and we often get caught up in it. But true friends will still find time. True friendships last through all the hardships. These people go out of their way to you over and over again. These people do not just stop trying.
To have a loyal friend like that is a rare find.Real friendships last a lifetime. And even though they get busy with their own families, love life, or work, all it takes is a reunion to rekindle all the happy memories and make new ones in the process.
A friend is one whom you treat like your second family. A friend is someone whom you are not ashamed to share you successes and failures in life with. That is the true value and essence of friendship.
